 The collector funnel main support and pipe mount is positioned on the underside of bare pipe with a tie/band wrap, and adjusted up or down depending on the insulation thickness. The insulation media is butted up on both sides of the funnel. It is recommended that H2Obvious be fitted at each insulation media joint as to pinpoint exactly where fluid is present in the future (It is widely recognized that fluid collects at these media joints and corrode at a greater rate). The weather proof outer cladding is then fitted as normal, making sure the funnel exits the outer cladding and is fully sealed with silicon adhesive sealant

When fluid is present either on the pipe surface or within the insulation media it will find a route to the lowest point of the pipe until it reaches the top of the collector funnel. The fluid will drip or flow through the funnel entering the removable encapsulated vial, the presence of fluid (as little as a few drops) sets the LED flashing and raising the highly visible float.
The H2Obvious LED will flash continuously for a minimum of 7 days, although the fluorescent float remains highly visible while there is fluid present, thus informing the inspection team of the presence of fluid under the insulation in that section of pipe work.
Should the float raise leaving the LED inactive, the contents of the vial will be pure Hydrocarbon. This will identify exactly the location of the leak or product release.
In all cases of either the LED flashing or the float being visible the vial may be unscrewed testing the contents to determine whether it be either corrosive water (Ph levels), hydrocarbons or other process product.
Should H2Obvious be in active for 5 years (Life of enclosed battery). In year 6 the H2Obvious encapsulated vials only, will be unscrewed, recycled and replaced as a matter of routine inspection, demonstrating a fluid free environment and continued assurance for another 5 years.
